In financial documents released today, Funcom has reported the sales of The Secret World at above 200,000 but below expectations. Thus, they have taken a $35 million loss on the game. This time the report not only sites Metacritic reviews, but also the release of Guild Wars 2 and World of Warcraft’s Mists of Pandaria.
If it wasn’t so pathetic, I’d be laughing. Yes, we all know that financial reports double as public relation documents and spin, but seriously blaming the competition for the quality of game released by your company is just sad and pathetic.
