Pictured above, a blast from the past, traveling in vanilla WOW. Maintenance begins at 3AM PDT tomorrow 28 August 2012. It is expected to last 8 hours, so about 11AM PDT the servers will be back up. It wouldn’t be unheard of for the maintenance to take longer however.
Blizzard has posted an official Survival Guide for Patch 5.0.4. Be prepared for broken add-ons, outrageous prices for crafting materials and crafted items, the usual whining and moaning about how this class is now broken and how that class is now so overpowered. Remember, you will have a month to learn to play your classes again and to get comfortable with new mechanics.
One important thing missing from the patch tomorrow, the pre-expansion event will NOT be taking place in Theramore starting tomorrow. Blizzard has promised to provide plenty of notice prior to the event beginning. So don’t expect major changes in the life of Jaina Proudmoore tomorrow, but the back story Tides of War by Christie Golden is currently available at a retailer near you.
So, am I looking forward to tomorrow’s patch? I can honestly say that I am. Mostly for little reasons, like no more paying to learn new skills and area looting, but I’m interested to experience all the changes the classes will undergo too. Are you looking forward to tomorrow’s patch?
